The Samelin 2077 is what happens when a legendary boot gets a second draft. It keeps the shape and purpose of the Norwegian M77 but rebuilds it with thicker leather and a modern sole — for people who want the classic without the compromises of a decades-old design.

What changed from the M77

Two things, mainly. The upper uses thicker 2.8–3 mm full-grain leather instead of the M77's 2.2–2.4 mm, so it's more robust and holds its structure better over years of wear. And the outsole is a two-layer moulded design that's noticeably lighter and more flexible underfoot than the original.

What stayed the same

The important part: it's still built by Samelin in Estonia under NATO AQAP 2110 and ISO 9001 standards, with the same water-repellent full-grain leather and the same understated military silhouette. If you know the story of the M77, the 2077 is its direct descendant rather than a lookalike.

Who it suits

Anyone who wants genuine military-grade durability but spends most of their time off-duty — commuting, working outdoors, hiking, riding. The lighter sole makes it more comfortable for long days on hard surfaces than the original ever was.
