Samelin Hawk Pilot Boots: The Aviator Boot, Explained

The Samelin Hawk takes the aviator boot — a design built for pilots who needed footwear they could get on and off fast and trust completely — and makes it a practical everyday lace-up. It's one of Samelin's most versatile boots, and one of the easiest to wear off-duty.

The leather does the heavy lifting

The upper is 2.2–2.4 mm full-grain leather — thick, water-repellent, and the strongest grade of leather there is. Full-grain keeps the hide's natural surface intact, so it breathes, moulds to your foot and develops character rather than peeling. (Our guide to leather grades explains why that matters.)

Comfort details that matter

A Cambrelle lining wicks moisture and resists odour — a genuine advantage on long days — and the direct-injected PU sole is bonded to the upper rather than glued, so it won't separate. Available in EU 36–49, which is a wider size range than most boots offer.

Aviator lacing, for a reason

The speed-lacing setup lets you get in and out quickly and adjust tension across the foot — originally so pilots could scramble, now just convenient for anyone. It also helps you dial in the fit if you have a high or low instep.

Built to NATO standards
