The Nordic Introvert is a compact vegetable-tanned leather bag designed to be three things at once: a wristlet clutch, a short-handle handbag, and a crossbody — switching between them by swapping one of three included straps. At 19 × 11 × 3 cm it carries a phone, cards, keys and daily essentials without bulk. Made to order in Estonia and signed inside by the craftsperson who made it — the smallest and most versatile bag in the Stella Soomlais range.

Three Straps — One Bag, Three Ways to Wear It

Wristlet: the shortest strap loops around the wrist — hands-free at a party, at the checkout, getting on and off transport. Short handbag: the medium strap creates a traditional handheld carry for when you want the bag visible and accessible. Crossbody: the long adjustable strap goes over one shoulder and across the body, distributing weight and keeping the bag secure while commuting, walking cities or travelling. Your carry style changes with what you're doing, not just what you're wearing — and a bag that adapts is more useful than three that each do one thing.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather

A bag this size in vegetable-tanned leather is a different object to the same dimensions in chrome-tanned or vegan alternatives: the material is denser, more naturally water-resistant, and ages in a way that adds rather than degrades. Marks from daily use become part of the surface's character over time. Vegetable tanning uses plant-based tannins in a weeks-long process, producing leather that holds its structure longer and develops a patina the way quality shoes do. The leather is responsibly sourced, with traced supply chains and environmental tanning standards.

Made to Order and Signed Inside

Each Nordic Introvert is made after you order it, with production taking up to two weeks before shipping — the production time for a handmade object that doesn't exist until you decide to own it. Inside each bag, the craftsperson who made it marks their name: a real person, a real signature, a specific accountability no mass-produced bag carries.

Care

Dry naturally at room temperature if the bag gets wet — no direct heat, which cracks the leather; stuff loosely with paper to hold its shape. Apply a light wax-based leather conditioner (such as Saphir) a few times a year to maintain suppleness and deepen the patina. Surface marks and colour deepening where the bag is handled most are the leather ageing as it should, not damage. Store in a dust bag out of direct sunlight when not in use.
